Reminiscent of a buttery Chardonnay, this dry, white varietal is round, supple and creamy, presenting low acidity and a long, smooth finish. Seyval Blanc grows more buttery and supple with age and is an elegant dinner companion. Serve only slightly chilled.
Seyval Blanc is a flattering pairing with white-sauce pastas, seafood (salmon on the grill is a particular favorite) and poultry entrees. It also pairs well with hearty vegetable pastry (think home-made pot pie), mild cheeses and rich chocolate.
