BOTHAM VINEYARDS SPRING OPEN HOUSE KICKS OFF SEASON OF 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION EVENTS
Annual Spring Open House is May 10-11, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and features free tours, live music, wine tasting and pairing, and Mother’s Day Jazz on the Terrace
BARNEVELD, WIS. — [April 29, 2014] Botham Vineyards’ Annual Spring Open House on May 10-11 will kick off a season-long schedule of 25th anniversary events designed to celebrate the growth and longevity of this nationally acclaimed Wisconsin vineyard and winery, officials announced today.
“We are as surprised as anyone that 25 years have passed,” said Peter Botham, founder, president and winemaker. “We’re proud of our accomplishments, grateful for the customers and friends who have supported us and really proud of the growth and longevity of the business in what continues to be a more and more competitive marketplace. And 25 years? Well that’s reason for a party that lasts all season.”
Free vineyard tours will be offered at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. both days. Led by Botham and his son, Mills, the tours include grape growing, winemaking, wine education and samples of wines not yet released, he said. The weekend also includes release of the new vintage, wine tasting and pairing with select Wisconsin cheeses and other gourmet food items and two days of live music on the terrace.
On Saturday, May 10, Carleen Wild and the Lost Highway Allstars will take the stage from 12:30-4:30p.m. and on Sunday, the day is all about Mom with Mother’s Day Jazz on the Terrace featuring Hanson Family Jazz from noon – 4 p.m. All weekend events are free and open to the public, Botham said.
The 25th anniversary season has also inspired a refreshing of the vineyard’s visual brand, he said. “We’re unveiling new wine label designs that will be on display throughout the weekend and we’re looking forward to customer comments and feedback.”
Additional events including a day-long 25th Anniversary Bash on Saturday, June 28 that features music by Primitive Culture from 4 – 8 p.m., the annual Vintage Celebration on Sunday, August 10 and select music events are scheduled through October, he said. Finally, “after 25 years of saying no,” Botham said, “we’re opening our venue to wedding ceremonies and celebrations.” The demand is there, he said, so after making some adaptations to the facility the venue will available for wedding dates beginning in September 2014.
