Harvest • Botham Vineyards & Winery
September 12, 2017 - September 17, 2017Free
Grape harvest is a favorite time of year at Botham Vineyards & Winery. Plan now to join us for an afternoon on the terrace or in the Back-barn Lounge, for a full- or partial tasting and for the opportunity to get up close and personal with the harvest process. From picking, to crush to early fermentation, we welcome you to be a little curious, ask questions and see your next, wonderful bottle of Botham Vineyards wine begin its vine-to-bottle journey.
If you’d like to roll up your sleeves and get involved, sign up below. We’ll contact you to provide further details, but here’s some general info:
• If you are allergic to bees this is NOT a place you want to be • Dress in layers and in clothing that can get dirty or stained • Wear comfortable shoes • Pack a lunch and bring it. We’ll provide water throughout the day, but feel free to bring coffee or a water bottle if you’d like • Sunscreen is a good idea. So is a hat. • We’ll provide gloves, clippers and instruction. • Smoking is not allowed on our property • Hard-workers only. No slackers please • Must be 16 or older • Pay is $9/hour. Those over 21 can also trade work for wine.
We’ll be grape to our elbows, dirty, sticky and happy; harvest is one of the most beautiful times of the year here. It smells good. It tastes good. And it means vineyard work is over for one more season. Let the fermentation begin. Here’s a sneak peek at what you might see.
We welcome you to join us.
