Road America License Plate Day at the Vineyard

You see them all across Wisconsin. Black license plates with white letters and the trademark racetrack outline that celebrates Wisconsin’s own National Park of Speed, Elkhart Lake’s Road America. On Sunday, August 13, we welcome all whose vehicles bear this license plate badge of honor to gather at the vineyard for great wine, good food, live music and the company of friends old and new.
As a bonus for Road America fans, a History of Road America exhibit featuring photos and memorabilia from our private collection and stories from the early days of racing and the drivers who made racing history there, will be on display in the tasting room gallery.
All vehicles of any make, model and year that bear the Road America plate will be welcome to park in the vineyard paddocks. Those without will find ample parking in the large event lot, but all are welcome to mix, mingle and enjoy the day.
A portion of the day’s proceeds will benefit the Nation of Patriots, an entirely volunteer-run organization that supports veterans in need. Every dollar raised by this organization is put directly into the hands of a veteran.
As life-long race fans and Wisconsin natives, Road America is our home track. Four generations of our family have spent nearly 70 summers there, including in the years preceding the formal track opening, when handsome young drivers braved the now-historic Elkhart Lake street course and set the wheels in motion for what would become America’s National Park of Speed.
