Wisconsin Dry Red Wine
Robust, raisin-y and full of body and attitude, Field 3’s fruit-ahead character resonates well against gentle oak aging. Crafted in small quantities and only in years when the Léon Millot grapes in Field III of our vineyard are ripened to perfection, this wonderfully unusual dry red is as indicative of its growing environment as a wine can be.
Fruit-forward, earthy and filled with rich, spicy substance that illuminates its fig, date, raisin and berry wit, Field 3 ages well, gaining splendor and round softness in the bottle.
The 2016 vintage is sold only in our tasting room or by ordering online. It can also be found at select area restaurants. Please ask for it at your favorite dining establishment. We made just 150 cases of this wine, so get it while you can. Drinks well now and when properly stored will age well for 3-5 years.
Serve Field 3 with steak, steak, steak … with mushrooms and melted Bleu Cheese, creamy mashed potatoes and crisp asparagus. Be daring and pair Field 3 also with hard cheeses like fresh Parmesan or 10-year Cheddar and smoked Gouda in the dessert course. It is a lovely and lively companion to any mushroom-inspired dish. We often make a complete dinner of home made cream of mushroom soup, fresh bread, cheese and Field 3.
